Accelerated CFI Program

The Flying School offers an accelerated course for both the CFI and the CFII ratings. The CFI ground school is 12 days in length and the CFII is three days long. The general schedule during the day is a start time of 7am until 12pm for ground school with flying in the afternoon, including any weekends you are with us.

The cost of the initial ground school is $2,200 and the CFII is $850. The flight time is charged at our normal rental rates, along with the instructor time. A good budgetary total to use is $7,500 for the CFI and $3,500 for the CFII. An individual student may need more or less time in the air, depending on their own experience and abilities.

We offer start dates the first Monday of each month. When you decide which month you would like to join us, we strongly recommend that you call us and put down your $750 deposit. This will secure a spot in your chosen class. The deposit becomes non-refundable 60 days before the class start. If you are unable to make your chosen date, we cannot refund the deposit inside of the cutoff date, but we will happily transfer you to a later available class within the following 12 months. After 30 days prior to the start of the class, there are no refunds nor allowed class date changes. In the event that your chosen date gets cancelled, we will either refund your deposit or move you to the next offered date.

Please keep in mind that this is an intense program and as such requires significant dedication and focus. You will almost definitely need to spend a substantial time outside of class studying. You are welcome to use our classroom at any time during your stay (or other office space as needed). We strongly encourage you to utilize your classmates for group study. We take our jobs here at The Flying School very seriously, keeping in mind that not only do you need to pass a rigorous and lengthy check ride at the end of the course, but that you will be responsible for educating other aviators and ensuring the continued safety of flying. Although it not required, we strongly recommend that you bring an iPad.

The classes here at The Flying School are designed to be both quick and effective. We have a great passing rate, and our equipment is the best maintained fleet in Colorado. Our staff ensures that every student is ready for his/her check ride and future career as an instructor. We limit our class size to 12 students which means your experience with us will the best it can be. Colorado is a beautiful spot for flying and our customers really enjoy their visit.
